Why Indonesia ?
Indonesia Promotes Four Main Points in Managing Global Water Resources
This information was conveyed by Director General for Multilateral Cooperation, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Tri Tharyat to the media persons at the 10th World Water Forum (WWF).
First point is an international agreement through United Nations General Assembly on designating World Lake Day. It will be an important legacy of WWF.
The second point Indonesia proposed was to establish a center for excellence and resilience on water and climate change issues.
The third point is what is known as Integrated Water Resources Management, especially in small islands, which is of our importance since we have so many small islands and of the importance of small island developing countries.
The last one is Indonesia will also put in efforts to realize 100 concrete projects on water which have been curated by Indonesian ministries, i.e., Ministry of National Development Planning/National Development Planning Agency, Coordinating Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Investment, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing.
